The project was to install an African inspired fence as per the plans from world renowned landscape architecture firm; Green & Dale Associates, Landscape Architects and Environmental Planners on behalf of Zauner Constructions and Taronga Zoo Sydney.
Brushwood Fencing installed quality products of the highest standards to withstand traffic into the hundreds of thousands, as a main part of the fence is on a major walkway. They then sought approval from Taronga Zoo Building Committee after installing 1 to 2 meters of fencing before further proceeding to ensure the required look was achieved. Brushwood Fencing was required to do this on four separate occasions.
They stated, with pleasure, that each section was approved after first inspection.
The final product went beyond expectations as the premade panels Brushwood Fencing had specifically manufactured have a minimal amount of on-going maintenance compared to the hand thatched fence originally planned for the project. Brushwood Fencing worked closely with all parties to create a finished product that would outlast the original design but still looked authentic.
The time frames were always met on each and every stage even though they were forever changing. Some days this meant the team worked whilst it was raining. Brushwood Fencing were asked to do additional fencing of the same because the client was so happy with the outcome.
The fence is the first of its kind and Brushwood Fencing successfully created it to complement the entire project. It will withhold high traffic areas, withstand the high wind factors at that location and has the authenticity of Africa!
“This install has been not only one of our most challenging projects but definitely our most satisfying and rewarding,” said Narelle Warren from Brushwood Fencing. “It has given our Company an opportunity to showcase our capabilities.”
